PacMOSSI training of trainers: Residual Spraying Against Aedes Vectors in the Pacific

Aims of meeting.

This workshop was designed to develop a cohort of trainers who will assist in building spray operator capacity to conduct quality, safe and effective residual spraying against Aedes vectors in the Pacific.

The objectives were for participants to be able to understand and teach:

Key requirements

for quality, safe and effective residual spraying indoors and in harbourage sites of Aedes vectors

Preparation for spraying

including sensitisation of community leaders and members

Targetting of spraying

to specific locations and areas within locations

Spraying techniques

for hand-compression sprayers and motorised backpack mist-blowers

Handling, use, maintenance and disposal

of spraying equipment and supplies

Completion of spray activities

including tracking/reporting
