Data Management.

A key opportunity to strengthen mosquito control
is through improved information communication technologies to record, analyse and present essential
data for program management decisions.

The PacMOSSI consortium assists Pacific Island Countries to manage and analyse data in national entomological databases that integrate with broader health information systems.

PacMOSSI
achievements.

PacMOSSI has collaborated with Beyond Essential Systems to develop a standardised set of mosquito surveillance digital data collection forms within the Tupaia platform. The forms are available through a smartphone App. They facilitate collection, aggregation and visualisation of data from adult
mosquito and larval surveillance, insecticide resistance testing and product efficacy evaluation.

With input from in-country mosquito surveillance personnel, the PacMOSSI consortium assists to tailor
the fields included in data collection forms to suit individual country needs. The electronic data management tools have been successfully deployed
in 5 countries, with face-to-face and online training sessions held to support the process.

Discussions are underway with additional countries who have expressed interest in support to improve their data management for mosquito surveillance and control. This includes considerations for use of the Tupaia platform.
